PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-emission laser array capable of equalizing characteristics of a plurality of surface-emission laser elements. SOLUTION: The surface array laser array 100 is provided with surface-emission laser elements 1-36. Combinations of six surface-emission laser elements 1, 7, 13, 19, 25, 31; 2, 8, 14, 20, 26, 32; 3, 9, 15, 21, 27, 33; 4, 10, 16, 22, 28, 34; 5, 11, 17, 23, 29, 35; 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 are arranged with an equal interval (d) in a sub-scanning direction. In the combinations of six surface-emission laser elements 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 14-24, 25-30, 31-36, an interval between the two surface-emission laser elements adjacent to each other is set at an interval X1 in the center of the surface-emission laser array 100, set at an interval X2 (<X1) in the periphery, and set at an interval X3 (X2<X3<X1) between the center and the periphery.
