PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically stop an engine if a door on a driver's seat side is opened when getting out, for preventing an automobile from going out of control due to forgetting stopping the engine and erroneous operation which does not shift a shift lever to parking when getting out from the automobile wherein the engine is be started by pushing a button without using a key. SOLUTION: By using a signal (for example, a not completely closed door alarm signal) which informs the opening of the door 5 on the driver's seat side of the automobile, the engine is automatically stopped when the shift lever 8 is not at a parking position.
