PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheelchair used for bathing having swinging footrests in which the footrests are moved to retreated positions which do not hinder movement of a caregiver or a person to be cared. SOLUTION: The wheelchair used for bathing having swinging footrests (1) has swinging sections (7) on the right and left of the front upper part of a seat frame (4). The swinging sections (7) have the footrests (8), respectively. Each swinging section (7) comprises a proximal section (14) attached respectively to the right or left of the upper front section of the seat frame (4), a swinging plate (15) attached to the proximal section (14) swingably in the horizontal plane and having a predetermined shape that makes its movement restricted by the proximal section (14) at the start and end of swinging motion, and a pivoting stem (16) provided on the proximal section (14) for supporting the swinging plate (15) swingably. The proximal parts of the footrests (8) are attached to the swinging plates (15). With such a configuration, the footrests (8) move reciprocatingly between a front-facing position and a back-facing position with respect to a wheelchair section (13). COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
