PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that clogging occurs in a joining part or grain culms are not smoothly transferred to the upper rear though the grain culms reaped in both a right and a left rows are transferred to the joining part in the upper rear to join in the joining part and the grain culms are further transferred to the upper rear in an apparatus for transferring the grain culms of a combine harvester. SOLUTION: The apparatus for transferring the grain culms of the combine harvester is characterized as follows. Both a right and a left sides of the joining part (a) of the transferred grain culms formed with a right lower root transferring chain 10d of a right lower root transferring apparatus 10b and a left root transferring chain 11a of a left root transferring apparatus 11 are composed so as to be formed into a nearly semicircular shape and the front side of the joining part (a) is composed so as to be formed into a truncated chevron shape. The rear side of the joining part (a) is composed so as to be formed into an inverted truncated chevron shape. Tension apparatuses 28 are each individually installed on the transfer terminal ends of the right lower root transferring chain 10d and the left root transferring chain 11a.
