<p>A mobile communication terminal and a handoff method thereof are provided to decide whether handoff occurs by compensating a handoff threshold value for deciding on the handoff according to reception performance changes of the terminal, thereby preventing a waste of a battery and a process load. An RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) value is measured by receiving a signal from a base station(S10). It is confirmed whether the current state is capable of influencing reception performance(S12). If so, a handoff threshold value for the RSSI value is compensated(S14). Handoff for the RSSI value is decided on according to the compensated handoff threshold value(S16,S18).</p> |
