To provide an article comprising fine noble metal particles carried thereon which comprises a substrate and noble metal particles carried without unevenness on the surface thereof and is almost free from the limitation for the material of the substrate, and a method for preparing the article. According to the present invention, provided are an article comprising fine noble metal particles carried thereon wherein the surface of the substrate is coated with an amino compound and above noble metal particles are carried on the resultant coating, and a method for preparing the article comprising fine noble metal particles carried thereon which comprises coating the surface of a substrate with an amino compound, to thereby impart a positive electric charge to the surface, and contacting the resultant substrate with a solution having fine noble metal particles being negatively charged dispersed therein, to thereby allow the above substrate to carry fine noble metal particles.
