PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately shift to a photographing operation suitable for a subject in an arbitrary color specified by a user through a simple operation. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging system provided with a photographing lens optical system 12 for photographing an image of a subject with an AF function and an AE function and a CCD 13; and a control section 22 that acquires color information corresponding to a position in a designated image when the user designates the position in the designated image by half depressing a shutter key, holds the acquired color information in a color information register 22a, detects a position with the same color information from the image photographed by the imaging system on the basis of the color information, and executes the photographing in the imaging system by activating the AF function and the AE function at the obtained position in the image.
