PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear guide unit to/from which a slider can be mounted/demounted while a track rail remains fixed to a machine device. SOLUTION: The linear guide unit in which an endless circuit is formed of a rolling groove 2 and a return passage 3 comprises the slider S1 for holding a plurality of rolling elements 4 in the endless circuit, and the track rail R2 having a raceway groove 11 opposed to the rolling groove 2. The rolling elements 4 roll between the rolling groove 2 and the raceway groove 11 and the slider S1 slides on the track rail R2. In the track rail R2, a cutout 13 is formed over the axial length L1 or longer of the slider S1 for shutting off the raceway groove 11. The slider S1 can be mounted and demounted through the cutout 13 in the direction perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the axial direction of the track rail R2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
