PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a glycidyl ether efficiently reducing an organic chlorine compound content in the glycidyl ether, and a method for producing a high-purity glycidyl ether. SOLUTION: After reacting a glycidyl ether containing organic chlorine compounds of a raw material residue and a by-product when in synthesis with an alkali metal exhibiting basicity, the glycidyl ether is distilled.
