PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling material improved in fitting strength to the roof of a vehicle, a spacer to be properly fitted to the ceiling material, and a spacer positioning device useful for fitting of the spacer, and also to provide a method of fitting the spacer to the ceiling material, which improves appearance quality of a vehicle cabin provided with the ceiling material. SOLUTION: The spacer 13 is bonded to a spacer fitting surface 18 of a ceiling material main body 11 so as to be surrounded by the adhesive 19. When bonding the spacer 13 onto the spacer fitting surface 18, the adhesive 19 is hardened in the state in which the spacer 13 is positioned in the height direction by setting a standard in the end surface 12a of an opening for sun roof of the ceiling material main body 11. With this structure, an interval between the end surface 12a and the spacer 13 is set at a predetermined value independently of an interval between the end surface 12a and the spacer fitting surface 18.
