摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially advantageously manufacturing 2-methyl-2-adamantyl (meth)acrylate with a high efficiency. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing 2-methyl-2-adamantyl (meth)acrylate comprises causing 2-adamantanone to react with a methylmagnesium halide in a solvent containing at least tetrahydrofuran to obtain a magnesium halide salt of 2-methyl-2-adamantanol and subsequently adding (meth)acrylic acid chloride to the product, where water is added to the reaction liquid, in which 2-methyl-2-adamantyl (meth)acrylate has been formed, in an amount of not less than an amount necessary for forming a saturated solution of a magnesium halide existing in the reaction liquid and not more than three times the mass of the magnesium halide and, after separating the water layer from the tetrahydrofuran layer, the tetrahydrofuran layer is concentrated to give 2-methyl-2-adamantyl (meth)acrylate.
