A METHOD FOR INDUCING ANGIOGENESIS USING DKK2

A DKK2(Dickkopf-2) protein or a DNA encoding the same are provided to promote angiogenesis effectively in an umbilical vein endothelial cell, a DKK2 overexpressed cell line and a DKK2 transduced mouse, thereby being widely used for developing a therapeutic agent for preventing or treating ischemic diseases. A method for promoting angiogenesis comprises a step of treating a tissue, in which blood vessels are not formed, of mammals excluding human with a DKK2 protein or a DNA encoding the same. In the method, the tissue in which the blood vessels are not formed includes a newly formed corium tissue, muscular tissue or tela connectiva after being damaged by ischemic diseases. A pharmaceutical composition for treating and preventing ischemic diseases comprises a DKK2 protein or a DNA encoding the same as an effective ingredient, wherein the DNA encoding the DKK2 protein is provided by being included in a non-viral vector or a viral-vector.
