PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transport recording paper 180 while accurately controlling a transport amount by a delivery roller 224 formed of an elastic material with a high frictional force against the recording paper 180. SOLUTION: In this transport device, sheet-like recording paper 180 is transported in a predetermined transporting direction. The transport device comprises a drive roller 222 rotating around a driving rotating shaft crossing perpendicular to the transporting direction by receiving a rotatingly driving force from a drive force source and a delivery roller 224 rotating around a driven rotating shaft parallel with the driving rotating shaft, rotated according to the rotation of the drive roller 222 by coming into contact with the drive roller 222 in one part of its length, and brought into contact with the recording paper 180 in a part of the other part of its length while being deformed to displace the recording paper 180.
