<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively compensate a threshold voltage of a driver element for controlling a current flowing to a light emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: Each pixel is provided with a pixel selection switching element 21, a current control driver element 22, a static capacitor 23 and a current light emitting element 24 such as organic EL (electroluminescence) device, in which the static capacitor 23 is disposed between a gate electrode and a drain electrode of the driver element 22 when the light emitting element 24 emits light. A reference voltage for threshold voltage detection is supplied to the gate of the driver element 22 while the light emitting element 24 is off, as well as an almost equal voltage to the gate voltage is supplied to the source so as to detect the threshold voltage between the gate-drain electrodes and store in the static capacitor 23. Then, upon detecting the threshold, a signal voltage to turn the driver element 22 off is written from a potential applied to the gate electrode of the driver element 22 so as to superpose the signal voltage to the threshold voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
