<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recording quality over the entire periphery of an optical disk, in an optical disk recorder. <P>SOLUTION: When a user selects starting of recording on the optical disk (S14), a microprocessor discriminates whether the recording is new recording (S15). If it is YES, the target value of an innermost periphery corresponding to a product ID is set, by reading it from among target values stored in an EEPROM, based on the product ID read from the optical disk previously (S16). If it is NO, it is discriminated whether there is recording of a recording power setting value in preceding recording (S17). If it is NO, as a result of the discrimination, a target value which corresponds to the product ID and which is the closest to a recording finishing position detected in advance is set, by reading it from the target values, based on the product ID of the optical disk (S19). If it is YES, as a result of the discrimination, the recording power setting value is obtained (S20), and the recording power setting value is set as optimal recording power (S22). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
