PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a homogeneous foamed rubber by uniformizing the water content in a rubber material at the vulcanization temperature to eliminate the fluctuation of the water content. SOLUTION: The foamed rubber is produced by adding a foaming agent to a raw rubber and decomposing the foaming agent at the vulcanization temperature in the vulcanization of the raw rubber to foam the rubber material. In the above process, 3-9 pts.wt. of hydrotalcite is added to 100 pts.wt. of the polymer constituting the raw rubber. Preferable amount of hydrotalcite is 5-7 pts.wt. The polymer constituting the raw rubber is EPDM. Further, the raw rubber contains a thermoplastic elastomer in addition to the polymer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
