<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system which maintains high reliability by detecting a failure such as a cut (failure) of a gas diffusion layer at early stage in a prestage of occurrence of a failure (gas leakage) accompanying a hole or thinning of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane. <P>SOLUTION: Existence of a cut (failure) of the gas diffusion layer is judged by a controller 20 according to the voltage movement of a fuel cell stack 12 at starting, that is, whether each voltage value obtained by a voltage measuring device 39 after a prescribed time has passed since gas inputting is less than a prescribed threshold value or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
