PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter which can reduce operational load. SOLUTION: The power converter comprises PWM modulation signal generating sections (14, 22, 23) for generating a PWM modulation signal by spatial vector modulation system, and a converter section 1 for converting a three-phase AC input voltage into a DC voltage based on a PWM modulation signal from the PWM modulation signal generating section. Assuming the carrier period is T0, and the phase angle of a reference signal synchronized with the three-phase AC input voltage isϕ, the PWM modulation signal generating section generates a PWM modulation signal based on a voltage vector at output timesτ4andτ6represented by formula; (where, 0≤ϕ≤π/3) using a voltage vector to be output based on a spatial vector modulation system.
