PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous paper printer obtaining excellent print quality causing no blurring at the start of printing without vibration caused by the impact of paper by guiding paper without a load at the start of printing. SOLUTION: The continuous paper printer comprises a transfer apparatus 3 for transferring a toner image formed on a photoconductor 1, to paper; an upstream guide member 25 and a downstream guide member 26 arranged upstream and downstream in a paper conveying direction with respect to the transfer apparatus and provided to approach or retreat from the photoconductor surface; and a buffer means arranged further upstream of the upstream guide member to absorb sagging of paper caused by the approaching and retreating operation of the guide member. The buffer means is composed of an eccentric roller 6 comprising an independent drive source and controlled in the angle of rotation according to the amount of sagging of paper caused by the approaching and retreating operation of the guide member.
