PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a coating part applying an adhesive from adhering to paper on the occasion when abnormality occurs in equipment, and to continue a bookbinding operation. SOLUTION: In the case when it is detected by an abnormality detecting sensor 102 that abnormality occurs in the bookbinding equipment B or an image forming system 1 and when it is detected that the coating part 60 is not present at a refuge position P1, a power supply channel to a driving motor M is switched over from a main power supply 103 to an auxiliary power supply 104 and thereby the coating part 60 is moved to the refuge position P1.
