A safety vest having a protection unit is provided to protect the upper half(the backbone and chest areas) of the body of a wearer against an accidental fall and downfalls. A safety vest includes: a safety belt(20), a rope(30a) and a protection unit(40). The protection unit is constituted by a backbone protector(41), abdomen protectors(42,42a), chest protectors(43,43a), and shoulder protectors(44,44a), each protectors being connected together as one unit. The safety belt and the rope are securely fixed by the medium of a fastener such as rivets(50,50a,51,51a). The rope is connected to a ring(31a) that is hooked to a separate fixed structure, so that a worker is protected from an accidental fall. |
