<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst temperature estimating device capable of accurately estimating the behavior of the catalyst temperature at the time of fuel cut and fuel recovery of an engine and thereby preventing damage of the catalyst due to a temperature rise exceeding the heat resistant temperature. <P>SOLUTION: At the time of fuel cut, an adsorbed CO amount CATco adsorbed on the catalyst is calculated by an adsorbed CO amount calculation part 63, an O<SB>2</SB>amount GASo<SB>2</SB>contained in exhaust gas is calculated by an exhaust gas O<SB>2</SB>amount calculation part 67, a CO oxidation reaction calorific value▵Hr when these adsorbed CO amount CATco and the exhaust gas O<SB>2</SB>amount GASo<SB>2</SB>are reacted is calculated by a▵Hr calculating part 70, and these are applied to estimating processing of the catalyst temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
