PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone separator which can suppress the length of a body vessel, and at the same time, can surely separate a separation object. SOLUTION: The cyclone separator comprises the cylindrical body vessel 1 in which the central axis is installed vertically, an inhalant canal 7 provided on an axial direction upstream side of the body vessel 1 tangentially to a circumferential wall surface of the body vessel, and introducing a fluid containing the separation object, an exhalent canal 10 flowing out the fluid from which the separation object is separated, an exhaust pipe 9 provided on an axial direction lower end side of the body vessel 1 tangentially to the circumferential wall surface of the body vessel 1, and discharging the separation object, and a cylindrical cyclone element 6 provided coaxially to the body vessel 1 inside the body vessel 1, in which an opening portion 6c and the exhalent canal 10 are provided respectively at the upper end side and at the lower end side, and the lower end side is connected with the exhalent canal 10. A tapered surface of a large diameter increasing toward the axial direction upper side is formed on the outer surface of the cyclone element 6, and a ring-shaped projection 6d is provided on the tapered surface, which enables a control of a lifting of the separation object along the outer surface.
