PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for the dyeing of cloth without using water or using extremely small amount of water. SOLUTION: The dyeing method for cloth contains a step to apply a dye to the surface of cloth by ion plating process. The energy of ion generated by the ion plating process is controlled and the energy applied to the dye molecule with the ion is controlled to a level not to cause the deterioration of the dye molecule generated from a dye evaporation region to evaporate the dye.
