PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbohydrate complex containing sialic acid and having anti-influenza virus activity and its efficient manufacturing method, and an anti-influenza virus agent containing the carbohydrate complex containing sialic acid and having anti-influenza virus activity. SOLUTION: This carbohydrate complex containing sialic acid has a compound (except sphingolipid) other than a sugar on one end of the complex having a sialic acid on the other, and has a molecular weight of 400-1,400. This invention includes also its manufacturing method, and this anti-influenza virus agent contains the carbohydrate complex containing sialic acid as an effective component.
