A slim type indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to reduce a width of a case by arranging slim fans in a lengthwise direction and heat exchangers in a vertical direction, so that the heat exchangers face with the slim fans respectively. A slim type indoor unit of an air conditioner comprises a case(10), a plurality of heat exchangers(20a,20b), and a plurality of slim fans(80a,80b). The case comprises a plurality of suction gates(40a,40b,40c) on a front or back side and a plurality of discharge gates(50a,50b,50c) on the opposite lateral sides. The heat exchangers produce cooled air by performing heat exchange between outdoor air entering the case and chilled refrigerant in a pipe embedded therein. The slim fans attracts air into the case via the suction gates or discharges the cool air produced by the heat exchanger to the outside the case via the discharge gates. The suction gates are disposed on a front or back side of the case, upper and lower sides of each slim fan, and the discharge gates are disposed on the opposite lateral sides of the case to be opposed to each slim fan. The slim fans are disposed in a lengthwise direction of the case and the heat exchangers are in a vertical direction facing each slim fan, so that a width of the case can be reduced. |
