<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translucent liquid crystal display device which has pixel regions each divided into a transmission region and a reflection region, the translucent liquid crystal display device being capable of having reflection characteristics (reflection mode) and transmission characteristics (transmission mode) both easily optimized while having a high numerical aperture. <P>SOLUTION: In the transmission region T, a transmission electrode 13 is formed on an inter-layer insulating film 11 and in the reflection region R, a reflection electrode 14 is formed on the inter-layer insulating film 11. A top surface of the inter-layer insulating film 11 is partially removed in the transmission region T and then a step is formed between the transmission region T and reflection region R. The step of the inter-layer insulating film 11 is formed by exposing/developing a photosensitive insulating film such as a photosensitive acrylic resin film while making the exposure quantity different by location. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
