This invention provides a process for producing a polyamine such as diaminodiphenylmethane and polymethylenepolyphenylenepolyamine, which, even when polysiloxane is repeatedly used, can reliably prevent a lowering in catalytic activity and a lowering in selectivity. According to the production process, when a product, containing diaminodiphenylmethane, polymethylenepolyphenylenepolyamine, and a by-product, produced by subjecting a condensate of aniline with formaldehyde to a rearrangement reaction in the presence of an organic sulfonic acid group-containing polysiloxane is measured by liquid chromatography with a UV detector at a wavelength of 200 nm, the proportion of a peak area of the by-product to the total peak area of a peak area of the by-product, a peak area of diaminodiphenylmethane, a peak area of polymethylenepolyphenylenepolyamine, and a peak area of aniline can be reduced to not more than 1.0%.
|
