A power inductor and a method for assembling the same are provided to discharge a heat generated in an element by forming a heat emission through-hole at a protrusion of a base substrate. A power inductor includes a base substrate(100), a pair of terminals, a core(200), a wire, and an epoxy(190). A pair of protrusions(111,112) are formed on an upper portion of the base substrate at predetermined intervals. The pair of terminals are formed on the base substrate. The core is inserted into and adhered to a space between the pair of protrusions. The core is made of a ferrite magnetic material. The wire is wound around the cores and is electrically connected to the pair of terminals. The epoxy is applied to an area to which the pair of terminals and the wire are connected. The wire is not exposed to the outside and only an upper part of the core is exposed to prevent the wire and the core from being damaged by an external force.
