A METHOD FOR INHIBITING ANGIOGENESIS USING DKK1

A DKK1(Dickkopf-1) protein or a DNA encoding the same are provided to inhibit angiogenesis effectively in an umbilical vein endothelial cell, a DKK1-overexpressed cell line and a DKK1-transduced mouse, thereby being widely used for developing a therapeutic agent for preventing or treating diseases caused by the angiogenesis. A method for inhibiting angiogenesis comprises a step of treating a tissue of mammals excluding human with a DKK1 protein or a DNA encoding the same. A pharmaceutical composition for treating and preventing diseases caused by angiogenesis comprises a DKK1 protein or a DNA encoding the same as an effective ingredient, wherein the DNA encoding the DKK1 protein is provided by being included in a non-viral vector or a viral-vector.
