<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical preparation for inhibiting the atrophy of an alimentary canal and kidney during weight reduction and to provide a pharmaceutical composition and a food comprising the pharmaceutical preparation. <P>SOLUTION: The atrophy inhibitor of the alimentary canal and kidney according to the weight reduction comprises at least one kind of branched chain amino acid selected from the group consisting of leucine, isoleucine and valine.
