PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for strengthening the interfaces of an emulsion and preventing the collapse of the emulsion in a water-in-oil emulsion type external preparation for skins, containing an organic-modified clay mineral. SOLUTION: This water-in-oil emulsion type external preparation for the skins is characterized by comprising (1) an organic-modified clay mineral and (2) a polyglycerol-modified silicone. The external preparation for the skins preferably further contains L-carnitine and/or its salt, and also further contains dimethicone or cyclomethicone in an amount of 15 to 30 mass%.
