A combined remote controller and a controlling method of the combined remote controller are provided to control apparatuses integratedly before changing control targets and apparatuses after changing the targets through simple key operation when the targets are changed into external multimedia apparatuses from multimedia display devices or vice versa, thereby realizing convenience. A user interface unit(701) inputs a control target conversion signal. A signal transmitter(703) transmits control signals to control target apparatuses whose conversion is selected by the user interface unit and control target apparatuses before conversion. A controller(702) generates a combined control signal to the conversion-selected control target apparatuses and the control target apparatuses before conversion, and converts a mode of a remote controller into the converted control target apparatuses.
