<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of correcting positional deviation by detecting variation amount as the total of all the speed variation factors even when it has a plurality of speed variation factors. <P>SOLUTION: A positional deviation variation amount detection part 103 stores output of a second registration correcting patten 62 for detecting variational positional deviation from a photosensor 60 with the ITOP of a photosensor 70 as reference.
