PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading system where a PC 30 can establish read settings of an original comprising a plurality of pages for a scanner apparatus. SOLUTION: In the image reading system, when an entry section 34 of the PC 30 enters the number of pages of an original image included in one file of read data resulting from the original image to be read by the scanner apparatus and to be transmitted by the scanner apparatus, a web browser 36 receives the entry, establishes the settings, and transmits the settings to the scanner apparatus via a first communication section 38. A read data management section of the scanner apparatus divides original data of the original image read by a read section according to the number of pages to be stored in one file of the settings, reproduces an image file, and transmits the image file to the PC 30 via a second communication section.
