It is possible to improve user-friendliness when recording as a file, AV data generated during a period from a start to a stop of recording. AV data generated during a period from a start to a stop of recording is recorded as a file, and information indicating a reproduction section and mark information indicating a jump position are additionally written to a reproduction list file. Here, according to an attribute file correlating a reproduction list file as an additional write candidate to a reproduction time and an address of the AV data, before additional write, judgment is made to decide whether restrictions preset on the reproduction list file and the attribute file are satisfied. If yes, the reproduction section information and the mark information are additionally written to the reproduction list file as the additional write candidate. If no, a new reproduction list file is generated. A user can perform a recording operation of AV data without considering the restrictions preset on the reproduction list file and the attribute file.
