Disclosed is an optical information recording medium on or from which information can be recorded or reproduced with high density through irradiation of laser light having a wavelength of 440 nm or less. The optical information recording medium is excellent in recording/reproducing characteristics (particularly in sensitivity and modulation degree). Specifically disclosed is an optical information recording medium having a recording layer on a substrate, on which recording layer information can be recorded through irradiation of laser light having a wavelength of 440 nm or less. This optical information recording medium is characterized in that the recording layer contains at least one platinum porphyrin represented by the following general formula (I).
