A call waiting tone service method using a call waiting tone service system is provided to transmit a call waiting tone stored in an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) or a call waiting tone stored in a waiting tone service server to the second terminal which is in call waiting if the first terminal is registered in a call waiting tone service, thereby offering pleasant mood to a subscriber who is in call waiting state. A user accesses a waiting tone service server by using a terminal or a computer(P10). The terminal or the computer inputs predetermined data to the server, and a type of a call waiting tone is selected and stored(P30). If the third terminal demands a call to the first terminal during a call between the first and second terminals, the first terminal converts the second terminal into a call waiting state for a call with the third terminal. Through an MSC, it is decided whether the first terminal is registered in a call waiting tone service(P50). If so, a call waiting tone stored in the MSC or a call waiting tone stored in the waiting tone service server is transmitted to the second terminal which is in call waiting state(P70).
