PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a development device capable of forming a uniform layer thickness of a developer on a development roll even if a developer control member of a nonmagnetic material is used, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the same. SOLUTION: A developer control roll 50 is disposed so that a downstream side layer thickness control range (range B) is located in a region where a normal component of magnetic flux density on a development roll 86 is larger than a tangential component. Since the normal component in the downstream side layer thickness control range (range B) becomes larger, the developer G is napped (a magnetic brush) along a line of magnetic force. Since the normal component of the magnetic flux density is larger until passage through the downstream side layer thickness control range, the developer G is raised and it is made difficult for the developer G to pass under the developer control roll 50, whereby layer thickness becomes uniform. Waving caused on a surface of the developer G is therefore suppressed and layer thickness of the developer G is made uniform. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
