PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning device for a vehicle for preventing the problem that a driver feels a sense of incompatibility due to warning, or a problem that warning effects are reduced, the problems which occur since any difference is caused between the changing amounts of accelerations before and after warning start due to the acceleration of a vehicle before warning braking. SOLUTION: This warning device for the vehicle determines a target acceleration b during warning braking on the basis of acceleration (a) of its own vehicle when a collision prediction time t reaches a warning braking time T1. Then, the device sets driving force to 0 by fully closing the throttle valve of an engine. Furthermore, the device applies braking force for achieving the target acceleration b when it is decided that the target acceleration b is not achieved. The device sets the target acceleration b as a proper value on the basis of the acceleration (a) when the collision prediction time t reaches the warning braking time T1.
