PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic channel selection system and method capable of automatically selecting a broadcast station independently of a reception area of a broadcast wave by using a mobile terminal. SOLUTION: The automatic channel selection system selects a broadcastable broadcast station on the basis of area information of the mobile terminal 1, matches the broadcast information of the selected broadcast station with preference information received by the mobile terminal 1 to select the broadcast station 6 corresponding to the preference information, generates a channel selection time schedule using the broadcast station information of the broadcast station, and a broadcast service reception terminal 7 executes channel selection processing on the basis of the channel selection time schedule. Thus, the automatic channel selection system can automatically select the broadcast station independently of the reception area of the broadcast wave by using the mobile terminal 1.
