The device has a motor drive (6) for generating a drive motion, and a gearbox unit for converting the drive motion into a set of motion components that is time-delayed to another set of motion components. The former motion components align an optical unit e.g. color filter (2) and beam splitter, into a definite working position or restore the optical unit from the working position, where the optical unit is fed in a monitoring and/or illuminating optical path (4). An adjustment device (3) aligns the optical unit into the working position.
