PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating element using an organic EL element, having a simple structure and having a high power efficiency. SOLUTION: The indicating element indicating a specified shape is composed of an organic electroluminescence element formed by laminating a transparent anode, an organic EL compound layer, a cathode buffer layer patterned in approximately the same shape as a specified shape, and a cathode on a transparent insulating substrate in the order.
