PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely keep a coming-off prevention state of a terminal fitting, in a connector provided with a retainer attached by sliding it in an oblique direction. SOLUTION: The frontward displacement of a retainer 40 attached at a regular position is restrained by a looseness filling part 53, and decrease of a lock margin between a lock piece 50 and a rear end part 36A of a retainer opening 36 is prevented, the retainer 40 is prevented from being lifted from a retainer mounting groove 34 by strong pulling force acting on a female terminal fitting 11. Thereby, the coming-off prevention state of the female terminal fitting 11 can be surely kept in this connector provided with the retainer 40 attached by sliding it in an oblique direction.
