PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract the light of desired wavelength regions and to eject the light of a plurality of extracted wavelength regions, in arbitrary combination. SOLUTION: A wavelength selection unit 11 is equipped with a collector lens 25, which emits the light emitted by a light source 21a and emits the parallel light flux PF, inclined with respect to an optical axis 20, a selective reflection optical system 26 which selectively reflects the light of a prescribed wavelength region in the parallel light flux PF, folded optical systems 27A to 27D which turn back and emit respective reflected luminous fluxes RFA to RFD, reflected by the selection reflection optical system 26 symmetrically with the respectively corresponding reflection optical axes 20A to 20D, and shutter mechanisms 28A to 28D, which selectively perform shutting and opening of the optical paths of the respectively corresponding loop back optical systems 27A to 27D. The selective reflection optical system 26 rereflects the folded luminous fluxes RFA to RFD emitted by the loop back optical systems 27A to 27D, and the collector lens 25 condenses the returning luminous flux BF rereflected by the selective reflection optical system 26 and images the light source image of the light source 21a.
