PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately correct an image according to an operation mode. SOLUTION: The image forming section 401 captures and stores a misregistration profile 413 for each operation mode in which an image is output. Before image data to be printed is transmitted from an image processing section 402, the image forming section 401 specifies the operation mode. Then, the image forming section 401 selects one of the stored misregistration profiles 413 which corresponds to the specified operation mode and transmits it to the image processing section 402. Based on the transmitted misregistration profile 413, the image processing section 402 calculates an amount of correction that offsets the misregistration, and corrects bit-map data, thereby correcting the image to be printed.
