PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an asbestos specimen preparing container and an asbestos specimen preparing device for preventing asbestos from being scattered in preparing a specimen for analyzing asbestos percentage content, etc. SOLUTION: This asbestos specimen preparing device includes a ball mill 2, this asbestos specimen preparing container 3, and a collecting container 4. The ball mill 2 is capable of hermetically housing the specimen and a steel ball 7. In the container 3, a second recess member 6, with pulverulent specimen 35 and the steel ball 7 housed therein, is connected to a lid body 12 with a second opening 9 in the second recess member 6 aligned with a supply port 19 in the lid body 12. The container 3 houses the pulverulent specimen 35 and the steel ball 7 in an internal space 24, further sifts the specimen 35 by a netlike member 14, and is capable of discharging the pulverulent specimen 35 having passed through the netlike member 14 from a discharge port 25.
