PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a log collection system and monitor device simplified in handling log records. SOLUTION: A log collection system S comprises a monitor device 2 for monitoring a plurality of devices 1 to be monitored and a service center server 4. The monitor device 2 is provided with a record knowledge storage part 20 and a log file storage part 21. Log patterns are registered in the record knowledge storage part 20. The monitor device 2 selects log records satisfying specific conditions among log records collected from the plurality of devices 1 to be monitored and unifies a format of the selected log records. The monitor device 20 sorts the log records described in the unified format in terms of time to organize one log file 22. The monitor device 2 stores the log file 22 in the log file storage part 21.
