PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curl straightening belt device capable of straightening the curl irrespective of the dry state of a print portion of a paper sheet. SOLUTION: The curl straightening belt device comprises a belt conveying device for conveying a sheet along a sheet conveying path, an air flow generation means 38 provided above the conveying path to generate air flow for deforming a curled portion of the sheet in the direction in contact with the conveying path, and an opening variable means for generating and stopping the air flow working on the curled portion of the sheet or increasing/decreasing the deformation force of the air flow to the sheet by opening/closing an opening part of the air flow working on the sheet in the air flow generation means or changing the opening area of the opening part.
