The mechanism has a differential (2) connected permanently to drive output shafts (A-B1, Ab2). A double planetary gear set (4) is provided between a differential cage (3) of the differential and the drive output (Ab2) of one side, and coaxially to the drive output. A sun gear (5) meshes with the first planet group (7) and, in order to shift the torque in one direction, can be coupled by a brake (11) to the housing (G). A second sun gear (6) meshes with an intermediate planet group (8) and, in order to shift the torque in the opposite direction, can be coupled by a brake (12) to the housing (G).
